I'm thinking about fabricating a cheap intake for my JRSCGSR. Is the opening at the TB 3"? What model of K&N filters are you guys using and where did you get them? What did you use and where did you get the piping that connects the TB to the filter? I would like to use a short pipe from the TB to a large filter. I would also like to enclose the filter in large tub-type container to keep engine bay air out of the filter. Finally, I would like to feed the enclosure from either the front of the car, using a low restriction pipe, or cut a hole in the hood and use a small scoop. Any thoughts or ideas (good or bad) would be greatly appreciated.

You can modify and make one yourself..or you can just go to online and buy one..I got one from www.speedpeople.com for $59....it fits the GSR JRSC. If you make one, cost of the tube and filter, brackets etc..will probably around $50 anyways..Of course, the quality of the intake is not as good as the AEM or whatever out there..but hey, what do you expect for a fraction of the cost. BTW, the tube is just plain aluminum so you might want to repaint it and put some insulation on to cut down on heat transfer.
